Hon'ble Mr. Justice M.R. Verma

Born on 30th June, 1943. Passed Matriculation Examination of Punjab University in 1959. Obtained degree of B.A. in 1963 from Punjab University. Obtained Bachelor's degree in Law in 1966 from Agra University. Enrolled as an Advocate in 1967.Practised in Civil, Criminal and Revenue Law in the District Courts. Joined Judicial Service of Himachal Pradesh. Was appointed initially as Sub Judge in 1970. Appointed to the H.P. Higher Judicial Service in October, 1980. Worked as Additional District and Sessions Judge and as District and Sessions Judge. Held the post of Registrar (Vigilance), High Court of H.P. during 1982-83 and that of Registrar twice from 1987 to 1990 and 1995 to May, 1999. Was appointed Commission of Inquiry to Inquire into the Jhanduta Police firing incident in 1985. He authored a book in the year 1979 on Casteism and Untouchability. Elevated to the Bench of Himachal Pradesh High Court on 17th May,1999.
