Born on 24th October 1945 Honourable Shri Justice M.G. Gaikwad, completed his schooling from Central Middle School, Pethwadaj. He obtained B.Sc. degree from Science college, Nanded and LL.B. degree from M.P. Law College, Aurangabad. After enrolling himself as an Advocate on 21st August 1968, he practised in Civil and Criminal matters in District and Sessions Court, Nanded. After practicing for 5 and 1/2 years, he joined as civil Judge, Junior Division, at Nashik on 18th February 1974 and was promoted as Civil Judge, Senior Division, on 13th December 1982; as Additional District Judge onl 24th March 1986 and served as such at various District places. He served as Additional Registrar of Bombay High court Bencvh at Aurangabad from 23rd October 1992 to 31st October 1995. Thereafter he served as District & Sessions Judge at various District places. From 11th October 1999, he served as Additional Registrar at Bombay High Court till September 2000, when he was again appointed as District Judge, Pune and from 29th January 2003, he held the post of Principal Secretary and R.L.A.Law and Judiciary Department of Mantralaya, Bombay till his elevation as the Judge of Bombay High Court on 29th August 2003.
